Difference between frosting and sandblasting for glass bottles

news2

Frosting and sandblasting of glass bottle are both used to make the surface of glass bottle hazy, which makes the light form a relatively uniform scattering after passing through the lampshade. It is difficult for ordinary users to distinguish the two processes. The following describes the production methods of the two processes and how to identify them.

1. Sanding process: frosting refers to immersing the glass bottle into the prepared acidic liquid (or smearing with acid paste) to erode the glass surface with strong acid, and at the same time, the ammonia hydrogen fluoride in the strong acid solution makes the glass surface form crystal. Therefore, if the frosting process is well done, the frosted glass surface is extremely smooth, and the haze effect is produced by the scattering of crystals. If the surface is rough, it shows that the acid corrosion on glass is more serious, which belongs to the immature performance of frosted people. Or some parts still do not have crystal (commonly known as not ground to sand, or glass has spots) also belongs to the workers' poor control of technology. The technology is difficult. This process is characterized by the appearance of glittering crystals on the glass surface, which is formed under a critical condition. The main reason is that the ammonia hydrogen fluoride has reached the point of fast consumption.

2. Sand blasting technology: this process is very common. It uses the sand particles from the spray gun to hit the glass surface at a high speed to form a fine concave convex surface, so as to achieve the effect of scattering light and form a hazy feeling when the light passes through. The surface of sandblasted glass products is rough. Because the surface of glass is damaged, it looks like white glass in the photosensitive process of glass wine bottle. The process is not difficult.

The cost of frosted glass is higher than that of sandblasted glass, and the effect mainly depends on the needs of users. Some unique glass is not suitable for sanding. From the point of view of pursuing elegance, we should choose frosting. Sand blasting process can be generally completed in factories, but it is not easy to do well in sanding process.
